Nursery

Nursery

At this stage, children enter into a period of conscious absorption; they start to focus within, they become aware of different choices that are available to them, and they want to make the choices they feel is best or most suited for them. They are mostly interested in what would promote their self-satisfaction, and aid the development of their interests and skills. Because we believe that this is an important stage for the development of conscious absorption, our activities are geared towards providing well-equipped teachers as well as a prepared environment for our children.

Nursery 1

For this level, we introduce our 3-4 years to different activities in Mathematics, Language, French, Sensorial, Culture, and Science, and Practical Life to build their Montessori experience. They are shown how to use the different materials in Montessori like Metal Inset, Pink Stair, Number Rods, Pink Box, etc. All these put together make them ready for the next phase. These activities help them develop the ability to put letters together to make words and make sense of them. At this stage, they learn to connect words and their meanings, they begin to prefer one hand over the other to do particular activities, and they begin to be able to sit still and concentrate for longer periods of time.

Nursery 2

Children in this stage are being prepared for the elementary section and this is where we will consolidate the early year experience. Children are introduced to more Montessori materials across all class activities they were introduced to in Nursery 1. They are introduced to the concept of geometry, reading, writing, parts of speech, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geography, botany, self-care, care of the environment, etc. Here, they begin to use the Binomial Cube, Multiplication Board, Addition Strip Board, Triangular boxes, Blue Box, Land and Water forms, etc. These activities not only make them ready for the elementary stage, but also provides the basic foundation they need to thrive in the different subjects they will be introduced to.
